We offer leadership opportunities for girls in grades 10 and up. Our leaders are extremely important in the running of camp; they are expected to attend mandatory training sessions and arrive at camp on Friday August 7th for preparation.


Counsellors: Girls entering grades 12 and up in

September 2020.

Counsellors in Training (CITs): Girls entering grades

10 & 11 in September 2020.
 

APPLICATION PROCESS

Complete the online application form.

 

Hiring process: Applicants will be contacted regarding their application.  Pre-Camp training days will then be discussed with applicants to ensure they are able to attend.

Counsellor Training Fee: To be determined.

CIT Training Fee: To be determined.

Application Deadline: March 15, 2020


 

CAMP INFORMATION

 

DROP-OFF: Friday August 7th at 7:00pm.

PICK-UP: Thursday August 13th at 11:00am. Families are invited to join us at that time for Mass and a concluding session.

LOCATION: Charis Camp in Chilliwack, BC (51935 Hack Brown Rd). Girls stay in cabin rooms within the main lodge where most of our activities occur. The camp has great food, and lots of space for outdoor recreational activities!

All leaders are responsible for their transportation to and from camp.

COUNSELLOR POSITIONS

Counsellors

  • Supervise a group of 6 campers;

  • Responsible for the care, safety and overall wellbeing of their campers at all times

  • Responsible for cabin preparation and cleanup at end of camp.

 

Nurse

  • Stocks and prepares a First Aid kit to bring to camp.

  • Keeps track of all medical forms and medication of campers and staff.

  • Informs staff of particular medical needs of any of their campers.

  • Must be available at all times to administer first aid or any medical attention that does not require a physician.

  • Identifies health and safety issues.

  • Nursing or advanced first aid certification required.

 

Sports leader

  • Plans and supervises all sports activities

  • Leads the Ropes Course, campfire activities, and other big group games.

 

Drama leader

  • Plans and supervises drama activities.

  • Oversees Talent Show and Skit Night.

 

Craft leader

  • Plans and supervises the craft activities.

  • Maintains a clean craft station throughout camp.

 

Lifeguard

  • Plans and supervises pool activities during camp

  • Stays on duty for all open pool times.

  • NLS required.

  • Assists in leading the Rope Course and other team building activities.

 

Lifeguard Assistant

  • Assists with planning and supervising all pool activities.

  • Assists in supervising open pool times.

 

Drama Assistant

  • Assists with planning and supervising all drama activities. 

  • Assists with Talent Show and Skit Night.
